Live string quartet playing new scores for seven classic silent horror short films. Seven composers, aged 17-24, composed new scores for silent short films, with the mentorship of some of the industry's top professionals. This is Cinema Recomposed! Commissioned by Golden Hornet, in partnership with a team including Tim League (Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Metro Cinema) and American Genre Film Archive (AGFA), the second year's screening with live score by Invoke string quartet will premiere at Fantastic Fest 2026. Golden Hornet partnered with fellow 501c3 non-profit, American Genre Film Archive (AGFA), to bring Cinema Recomposed Year Two to life. AGFA is the world’s largest archive dedicated to genre movies and filmmakers. 

We provide each composer with something that's often not accessible through traditional music programs: one-on-one access to composers working at the highest level. With help from Tim League and our Artistic Director Graham Reynolds, we have assembled a team of some of Hollywood's best film composers to mentor each young artist including Mark Orton, David Wingo, Brian Reitzell, Nicoletta Nomicou, and more!
